What Places Will You Go? - Hot Air Balloon Craft | Jersey Family Fun

Dr Seuss Activities

My favorite Dr. Seuss book is Oh, The Places You?ll Go! Whether you are 5 or 55 there is always a journey to be had or a new place to discover. The book teaches that you can always fulfill your dreams but sometimes there are hurdles you have to get over, but that you can do anything you put your mind to with time, patience and?perseverance.

We started our journey today by making a hot air balloon and on the back of the balloon writing down our goals, dreams, and where we would want to go.

Supplies to make a hot air balloon:

  • 2 different colored pieces of Construction Paper (we used red for the balloon and tan for the basket)
  • Tape or Glue
  • Scissors
  • Crayons, Markers, or Paint for stripes
  • Lanyard or String
  • A photo of yourself

What other activities can you do at home to discover your places?

  • Draw a ?picture of a place you want to go
  • Pick a new park in your area and go have a picnic
  • Fill a jar with scraps of paper, on each paper write a new activity and pick a new piece from the jar each day
  • Make a poster of what they want to be when they grow up.
  • Find an activity that relates to what they want to be when they grow up. (example: I want to be a vet. Visit your local Animal Shelter and see if you can take a tour)
  • Research a new place online, make a poster of all the things they want to do when they get there
