Judge approves $10M incentive package for River Trace Golf Course in Gadsden

A $10 million incentive package passed in November 2011 by the Gadsden City Council for the development of the River Trace Golf Course has been approved by Etowah County Circuit Judge Billy Ogletree.

According to the Gadsden Times, Ogletree accepted the agreement or ?warrants? between the city and Blackwater Resources of Birmingham that will give the firm sales tax rebates totaling up to $10 million over 15 years.

Ogletree said there is sufficient evidence to support the findings and determinations of the council?s approval of the incentives.
